The Plot:

1. Deacon gets his own contract. Yay! He complains about the money, but whatever—it’s not about the money when you’re making art.

2. Gunnar and Zoey fight. He compares her to Scarlett and blows off meeting her friends. Apparently, Zoey has a ton of friends in Nashville, the town she just moved to. Scarlett, on the other hand, is all alone and has no friends.

3. Ruke/Layna If your couple–name options are this bad, maybe you shouldn’t be dating. Their single reaches number one, and they decide to be official.

4. Ding dong the witch is dead. So Peggy is dead and Megan is defending the family of her shooter because they believe his suicide was a set–up. Teddy does some manic digging and yelling and decides that Lamar must have hired the shooter.

5. #biblebeltproblems Everyone hates Juliette because she’s a blasphemous bitch. They threaten to blow up her concerts, and the venues cancel her shows. Emily shuts down her Twitter, and Jeff calls her “trailer trash covered in sparkles.” I would feel bad for the PR person who has to deal with all this, but, for some unknown reason, Juliette doesn’t have one. (Tip: Your personal assistant should not be handling your PR! Get a professional stat. How about that nice lady who helped you when you shoplifted?) On the bright side, she has a lot of alcohol, Avery and some gorgeous pillows on her private plane to make her feel better.

Best Quote: Scarlett gets sassy when she’s overtired and comments on Rayna and Deacon writing together again. Scarlett says to Rayna, “if you say jump, he will always say how high.” Noo, he has Megan now! Later in the episode, Scarlett apologizes, and Deacon and Rayna decide not to write together anymore.

Best Outfit: This week, Scarlett kills it in a cropped grey tank top and a long, flowy white skirt with a sparkly waistband. Scarlett’s stage outfits tend to be the only acceptable ones. She rocks this when she sings “Free” with (my personal favorite) real–life country artist, Zac Brown Band!

Best Song: In an effort to pick up Juliette’s spirits, Avery decides to get her a brown wig so they can go out and get back to the music. They sing a new “Nashville” original song called “Everything I’ll Ever Need” which is boot–tapping good time. It’s rewarding for viewers to see them happy and together again. Seriously, just hook up and be a thing already, okay guys?
