Like every great diner, Sam’s Morning Glory serves BIG BIG portions. Decadent French Toast is lathered in real maple syrup, caramelized fruit and topped with homemade sauces and butters. Very few items on the menu are over ten dollars but remember to bring cash and be prepared to leave full.

2. Lemon Hill : 747 N. 25th St, Philadelphia, PA 19130

Lemon Hill offers comfort food of the sweet and savory variety. Dishes like Brown Sugar Soaked French Toast and Warm Banana Bread with whipped cream, bacon maple syrup and peanut butter mousse are perfect for the those runners with an intense sweet tooth. However, their savory options are just as good with breakfast sandwiches like the “Smoked Salmon Club” and “Pork Biscuits.”

3. Supper : 926 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

Name aside, Supper’s best menu is brunch. Almost every dish on the menu is a twist on a traditional classic such Bacon Babka, Franklin Benny and Blue Corn Mango Pancakes. And if you’re still freezing after running in 30degree temperatures, you can warm up with some oatmeal or warm and fluffy omelets.

4. Khyber Pass Pub : 56 S 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106

This over the top New Orleans style pub serves comfort food with some sass. Come for the Beignets, stay for the Bananas Foster French Toast and “Big Ass Biscuits.” This is the food that coats your belly and makes you forget your aching legs.
