Dear Street U.,

I know you’ve probably been asked this like, a thousand and eleventy times, but I’m just so totally confused and whatnot. When is it okay to wear flip-flops instead of Uggs? I know that all my friends think it’s okay to wear Uggs with denim minis, but I think it gives me cankles. And nobody wants to be Cankle Girl. But Miley totally does it and she looks awesome and she definitely does not have cankles. Help!

It’s a problem that every girl faces. Whether you’re walking to class or to that super-cute, ever-so-slightly dense linebacker’s house, the Ugg-or-flip-flop debate is bound to arise. We here at Street U. tend to err on the side of the Uggs, both for their warmth and their merit as fashionable footwear. Notable exception: If you give yourself a school-colored pedicure, you’d be doing your team a disservice if you didn’t show it off!
