It’s not your average frat party that combines spandex, Bon Jovi and scrunchies to draw wannabe frat stars, short-skirted freshmen and everyone in between… all to prove that Penn students love the ‘80s. Though the dude in the tie-dyed shorts and the chick in the Spice Girls t-shirt may have confused their decades, punk, jazzercise and big hair were all heavily represented in the montage of well-costumed guests. Many (freshmen) waited in a line that stretched down Locust, perhaps motivated by the sounds of inebriated vProxy-Connection: keep-alive

ces belting “Don’t Stop Believing.” Upon entry, many proceeded to show their wristbands in the hopes of obtaining a beer from the senior citizen OFSA officials. With such a good reason to dance outrageously to the tunes of an all-too-washed-up hair band named Rock Kandy while drinking free booze, it’s no wonder one student outside was forced to seek emergency medical assistance afterwards. For the record, there was (slightly) less blow than you might have found in a Studio 54 bathroom. But hey, in true ‘80s fashion, sometimes too much of a good thing leaves you wondering why that blonde girl you woke up next to didn’t look like Madonna in the morning.
