Spring Fling is tomorrow. Actually, it’s not... but Happy April Fools, one day belated. Though fun flingin’ time is not yet here, it is officially April, which means spring festivities are just around the corner. This also means that it’s no longer March, which means March Madness is almost over. Though the Ivy League made its usual weak showing (Cornell lost in the first round, FYI), our neighbors at Villanova are celebrating Final Four status. Speaking of status (or status-boosting), Penn’s senior societies began tapping (and initiating) the best and brightest juniors to become the newest members of Friars, Sphinx and Mortar Board. At “smokers" held everywhere from Philo to Blarney, about-town characters frolicked about at the events. As for other pretentious activities, Penn Fashion Week announced its schedule, which features fashion designer Tory Burch C’88, who has in the past notoriously refused to speak to any Penn students except those from her very own Theta. We are, however, excited to hear from Domenico de Sole, who used to head the Gucci Group and now runs Tom Ford International. An A+ for the fashion set. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s get back to what’s already occurred. On Friday night, groups around campus participated in the overnight Relay for Life extravaganza. Also in charitable news: Theos and friends threw their annual “Black and White” AYUDA Ball on Thursday night in an extremely oversized ballroom downtown. Finally, though we tend to be pretty apathetic towards student government, apparently some people care. Elections for the Undergraduate Assembly and Class Board positions are currently in session, and like, all the races (including class prez) are contested. We just can’t wait to see who wins!
