Oh, Valentine's Day. The one day restaurants know demand is high and tables are few, whether you're seducing a sweetie or celebrating singledom with friends. It is surprisingly hard to find a restaurant in Philadelphia that doesn't set aside its well-loved, well-priced usual dishes for a limited prix fixe menu at twice the price - or more. Maybe you're thinking, why spend $75+ on someone who won't eat past the first course? But hey, the things we'll do for love. Or not. Wherever you go, make your reservations quickly or you'll be left drinking a baby keg at Beijing (which also happens to be a BYO).

Serving their normal gratifying menus, so you won't get ripped off:

 Alma de Cuba

 Amada

 FARMiCiA

 Figs (BYO)

 Porcini (BYO)

 Vetri

Usually appealing, these fail to please on Valentine's Day due to their priciness per person:

 Astral Plane ($60, 3

courses)

 Django (BYO)

($75, 5 courses)

 Fork ($70, 3 courses)

The Grill at the Ritz-Carlton ($125, 5 courses)

 Melograno (BYO) ($60, 3 courses)

 Pasi¢n! ($75, 5 courses)
