Dock Street Brewery

701 S. 50th Street

(215) 726-2337

The Dock Street Brewery is the unassuming local bar you've been looking for. This laid-back neighborhood spot has the added benefit of producing its own craft beer, making Dock Street truly unique to West Philadelphia.

The Dock Street owners have been brewing their own beer since 1985 and the attention to detail shows. If your willingness to try lagers hasn't been destroyed by one dollar beer specials, I recommend Dock Street's Helles lager, a 4.8% beer that goes down easily. It is smooth and light, yet full of flavor. It leaves you with a wonderful, earthy aftertaste that won't spoil your meal.

Dock Street has a great beer selection for palates ranging from the simple to the snobby - and even has a few cutting-edge flavors, like an espresso stout that tastes like coffee but kicks like beer. This place will quickly make every visitor a regular.
