Tucked away in between tourist shops and a furniture store on 3rd and Arch Streets, a mere block from the Betsy Ross House, The Outrage has a slightly unassuming facade. Lacking a formal sign or awning, it embodies the “brick and mortar” aesthetic. Yet, step inside and you’ll find yourself immersed in a room filled to the brim with progressive and feminist merchandise, apparel, accessories, and more. Though the space is not that much larger than an average–sized classroom, I still spend upwards of thirty minutes browsing the various racks and table spreads.

The holidays are upon us and with them are seasonal activities, bitterly cold days, and the infamous Pillsbury cookies. You know—the pre–cut, circular sugar cookies, complete with screened–on pictures of holiday iconography like reindeer, snowmen, and elf hats. A fixture of my childhood, I haven’t had one in over five years on account of my veganism. So, this Thanksgiving break, I embarked on the culinary challenge of creating a vegan cookie that could replicate the vanilla, simple, and addictive quality of the Pillsbury brand.

This year, Penn’s campus was hit with its first snowfall pretty early, and every fiber of my being was not having it—skin included. My hands screamed for lotion the whole day and I must have applied chapstick two dozen times; when I got home, I took the longest shower of recent memory. One way some of my friends combat the winter cold is through getting a facial. Though I’ve never tried one, they swear by the treatment, reporting that it leaves their skin feeling soft and glowing. If your skin is dry and cracked due to the winter weather, duck into one of the following places to pamper your skin.

Sunday morning rolls around in University City, and most Penn students flinch at the thought of leaving their beds. But for the ambitious few who do, brunch is popular way to waste away the morning (and maybe the afternoon). Tired of waiting forever to get a seat at Farmacy, a favorite amongst Penn students? Here’s where to go when you’re seeking something a little less mainstream:

Walking through the glass doors of &pizza last Friday afternoon, my senses immediately went into overload. My eyes had to adjust to the electronic menu flashing through different screens and high–contrast black–and–white color palette, while my ears were overwhelmed by the loud music and general bustle behind the counter. The line was long and equally frenetic, with one worker sometimes making four pizzas at once, bouncing between customers as they garnished their pizzas with the toppings of their choosing.

Now that Halloweekend has passed and Starbucks has donned its stores in all things holiday, it’s time to start thinking about winter activities. Ice skating is a classic cold–weather sport, but the actual logistics of the activity—finding a rink, renting the skates, realizing you’re nowhere near as skilled as you talked yourself up to be to your friends—can be discouraging. Whether you’re leaning into cuffing season and are looking for a unique date location or have a sudden urge to refine your skating techniques, here’s where to go ice skating this winter in Philadelphia:

Fall is officially here—determined more by the season of pumpkin spice everything than the temperature outside. The flavor, made popular by Starbuck’s infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte, can be found in a variety of packaged foods this time of year. Other chain cafes on campus like Pret a Manger and Dunkin Donuts have come out with their own versions of the drink. Trying to buck the trend? Here’s where you to go to find autumnal drinks on campus that aren’t saturated in pumpkin syrup:

This summer, Houston Market went through serious renovations and opened several new vendors, in addition to updating fan-favorites. We tried every station in Houston during the lunch rush. Here’s what we thought of each place based on the quality and healthiness of their food, and whether or not it's a bang for your buck (or dwindling Dining Dollars balance):

Not of the Ordinary (NOTO), the Center City night club that opened in February 2017, has been a popular venue for Penn students looking to venture downtown this semester. It seems like every weekend, there is a reason for students to make the trek downtown, even on a Sunday or Tuesday night. Opened and operated by a recent Penn grad, this is exactly what NOTO hoped to achieve: a club made for and run by millenials.

Center City Restaurant Week, the two–week–long foodie event popular among Penn students, is starting tomorrow, so getting a last–minute reservation might be difficult. Add a friend who’s sworn off dairy, meat, or gluten into the equation, and it can feel nearly impossible to reach an agreement over where to go. But with nearly 110 restaurants to choose from, options for the dietary–restricted aren’t all that grim. We’ve gone through all of the tasting menus so that you don’t have to. Here are the best places to go for your dietary restrictions:
