Homesickness. We’re all affected by it at some point. Whether it’s the longing to walk down familiar streets, the yearning to eat mom’s homemade meals, or just the mere desire for comfort and familiarity, homesickness hits hard for all of us eventually.

I am an ASMR junkie. My love affair began one fateful night, when my insomnia was in high gear. I'd been hearing about ASMR and its sleep–inducing effects, but I'd never actually watched a full video. That night, I watched an hour–long compilation and although it didn’t help me sleep, it did make me feel safe and relaxed.

Last week at the Philadelphia Film Festival, I sat through a four–hour movie. At the Ritz Five movie theater starting at dusk, I plopped down in my seat, constantly shifting around and losing focus. After dozing off within the first hour of the movie, there was a point when I wanted to exit the theater. I thought I knew exactly where the movie was going, and in my mind, I had thought up the perfect movie review headline: “An Elephant Sitting Still is Proof that Movies Should Be No Longer than Two and a Half Hours.” By midnight, my view couldn’t have changed more dramatically.

Hello, it’s Street’s resident sleepyhead reporting! When sleep aids failed me, I desperately searched the web far and wide for my next remedy. That’s when I stumbled across a video of Tiffany Haddish saying how she’d filled a void in her life with a weighted blanket — that void being personal relationships. Her work has made Charlotte, in her native country of Vietnam, a social media sensation and a tycoon in the field of slime.

Halloween’s just around the corner, and Wawa’s here to celebrate it with us. They’ve released three spooky–themed drinks on their secret menu, and I—owner of what is possibly the biggest sweet tooth on campus—sought out to try each one.

I've always been a person who sweats profusely, no matter the weather or the situation. I can be meeting someone new, and my hands become too clammy to shake, or I'll be talking to a friend, and beads of sweat will just drip down my forehead. Sweating may be a normal biological process, but it's also the bane of my existence. So when I heard one of my vegan friends talk about how she has started sweating less after cutting meat from her diet, I was intrigued.

To me, sleep is a cheating rascal. I’ve had a one–sided relationship with sleep for as long as I remember.

Bad Times at the El Royale is a haunted carnival ride that speeds with excitement in the beginning, slows down in the middle, yet doesn’t disappoint in the end. With its quirkiness, mystery, and thrill, it’s like Wes Anderson, Agatha Christie, and Quentin Tarantino mingled and produced a brilliant problem child.
