While the unlucky few stayed in with Mom and Pops last Saturday night, the love of thumping basslines, party anthems, and body shaking grooves brought Penn students and local dance freaks to St. Elmo and PiLam's "So Much Dancing!" Legions of brave dancetronauts found themselves venturing to PhilaFunk, a spacious warehouse venue on Preston and Market Sts., to rock out with an eclectic cast of musicians and DJ's. Local turntablists Broadzilla and Dave P set the dance train in motion after performances by New York's Murder Mystery and recent DFA signees Holy Ghost, while downstairs West Philly resident DJ JJC spun classic old-school breaks during his retrospective hip-hop set. Street fills you in on the crazy night.
