Web Video of the Week

In a world of metavisual consumption, it's fitting that one of the strongest television advertising campaigns is for... televisions. Sony Bravia has produced four incredible videos for its new line of color-centric TVs. While special effects usually go hand in hand with computers, these ads are dazzling because they are beautiful without being digitally constructed.

Search Google for "Bravia Commercial" to watch thousands of rubber balls bouncing down a San Francisco street, 70,000 liters of paint exploding on a Glasgow tower block, an incredible army of claymation rabbits swarming NYC and countless spools of thread draping across one of Egypt's pyramids.

(Note: Street received no compensation from Sony, but merely wishes to share their glorious marketing devices. On another note, if Sony does wish to help us see the color green more clearly, Street offers great advertising opportunities.)

‘Wicked: For Good’ is for the Theatre Kids

Wicked: For Good closes its story without awards recognition but with clear creative conviction. The film’s reception reflects a mismatch between its intentions and critical expectations. Designed as the second half of a continuous narrative, it prioritizes character depth and long-term emotional payoff over accessibility. In doing so, For Good succeeds less as a crowd-pleaser and more as a film made for those already invested in the world of Wicked.
