Ingredient Spotlight

While most of us have trouble spelling it, almost all of us are underusing it. No, we're not talking about that foreign protein mix you bought in Mexico - it's all about the Worcestershire sauce. The Brits love to put a few drops of this stuff on their grilled cheese sandwiches. Just add a dash to your cheese slices and get ready for a new spin on that comfort food favorite. Is your tomato juice missing something? Has your Bloody Mary lost its kick? Just a spoonful of Worcestershire sauce helps the V8 go down. Grind in some pepper and toss in a celery stick and you're all set.

Alas! High caloric hoagies and alcoholic beverages are not all this wonderful ingredient is good for. Whip up a delicious salad dressing with equal parts Worcestershire sauce and olive oil. Season it with some salt and freshly chopped thyme, and you've got yourself the perfect steak marinade or a delightful accompaniment to your veggies and greens.
