One Track Mind

Britain’s electro-pop scene shows no signs of losing its steam. No doubt about it, these Manchester blokes are blowing up. However, their Jan. 11 album Acolyte is only available in the UK iTunes Store. Damn the Atlantic!

Their new single, “Doubt,” now available stateside, begins with a boppy, poppy opening, a mix of synth and electro happiness. The perfectly percussive resonance builds with brilliant layers. While maintaining the electronic fundamentals, they still manage to incorporate guitar riffs that are undeniably exciting and quintessentially rock ‘n’ roll. Calling them the next Hot Chip would be a bold statement, but Delphic has certainly cultivated a more unique, upbeat sound than their whiny counterparts.
