Pizza lovers rejoice. A new joint is coming to 3925 Walnut Street.

After the sad (and sudden) closing of Capogiro this fall, the question arose: what would replace it? &pizza gave us the answer. Penn owns the land but leases it long–term to the Scion Group, which manages The Radian, and this group in turn leases the space to &pizza.

&pizza recently began renovations to the space that once housed Capo, adding to their existing Philadelphia location in Center City. The chain describes themselves on their website as a “counterculture pizza brand built on the strength, unity and attitude of its living–wage–paid tribe.” They pride themselves on being an “anti–establishment establishment” that breaks the mold of chains.

The company first began in Washington, D.C., but is quickly expanding nationwide to cities including NYC, Baltimore, and soon Boston.

They serve nine signature pies, as well as a build–your–own option. For dessert, they boast a cereal milk cookie as well as a “pizza” made of berries and sweet cream. The price of the pizzas starts at $10 and increases with additional toppings.

Although its exact opening date has not yet been announced or confirmed by PR reps, the press team confirmed via email that the restaurant will be opening on campus "in the future."
