It wouldn’t be unfair to accuse Jay–Z and Jay Electronica for prioritizing money over music—Hov has always been about his business, even if that means dumbing down his content, and Elec has been off with multi–millionaire girlfriend Kate Rothschild while fans eagerly await for his almost mythical debut album, “Act II.” Out of nowhere, the label mates recently linked up for the second time ever over the infectious “We Made It” beat popularized by Drake (and Soulja Boy), and the result is money in the bank. Both deliver potent verses that center on black history and triumph, but Jigga steals the show with his immaculate flow and a shot directed at Drake. This right here, folks, is hip–hop.
