The Fling concert performers this year will be EDM DJ Zedd and Tinashe, multiple sources and SPEC confirmed to Street on Wednesday night.

Zedd is known for "Clarity," "Stay" and "True Colors."

Tinashe is an American singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, and actress. She starred in Two and a Half Men and The Polar Express. Musically, Tinashe is known for hits like "2 On" and "Flame."

SPEC Concerts Co–Director Rachel Erani said in a statement to Street, "Tinashe, our opener is a singer, but even more than that, she’s a performer. She also taps into multiple genres––her music blends R&B, Hip Hop and Pop. And on top of that, she’s an amazing dancer! Zedd is a DJ with more mainstream appeal and everyone already knows a bunch of his songs. We want Fling to be the space where Penn students can not only be entertained, but also be able sing and dance along to music they already love. We’re super excited about our lineup as a whole and cannot wait for the show!"

Upon hearing the announcement, Co–President of DJ student group The Collctve Aayush Sanghrajka says that he "felt okay about it." Comparing it to last year's performances, he says "I think [Zedd] will be better than 3lau but not better than Chance the Rapper. I think Tinashe’s really good as an opener. I don't really listen to Zedd that much in my free time, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun concert."

"I'm really, really excited for Tinashe," member of Arts House Dance Company Jennifer Li says. "She's super talented as a dancer, singer and performer. She’s different from past Fling performers we’ve had because she really highlights her overall performance skills and I’m happy that people who haven’t had the chance to see her perform get the chance to appreciate all of her talents. Super excited for Zedd too—killer combo."

Reacting to the announcement, Danny Fradin, Legacy Chair of Osiris Senior Society, says, "Personally, I’m a little skeptical about the whole going to a concert to see a DJ perform. But Tinashe is someone I’ve heard of and I’ve had a chance to listen to her songs. And this is the first Fling where I might actually be able to go to the concert, so I’m excited for that.”

The concert will be held at Penn Park. The first thousand tickets will go on sale on Monday, April 3rd at 10 a.m. on Locust Walk. These tickets will be sold at an "early bird price" for $30.

The show concert will be on Friday, April 21st. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8.

Street will update as we obtain more information.
