Move over, All–American Rejects. Penn is in the running for a visit from the great Cardi B herself.

In the recent nationwide swipe-off created by Tinder, Penn entered the finals, comprised of the top 8 participants, after breaking the top 16 late last week. But Quakers failed to break out of the top 8 into the final two colleges; that honor goes to two schools in Massachusetts—Northeastern and UMass Amherst.

The rules are simple: the university with the most right swipes will be victorious. The winner of the bracket will receive a free Cardi B concert on April 25th.

Here's how it works.

  • Link your Tinder profile to your Facebook and make sure your Facebook profile says that you attend Penn
  • Before April 13, swipe your hearts out. That's when Tinder and Cardi announce the championship: the top two schools.
  • Between April 13 and 18, the two final schools will face off until the winner is announced on the 18th.
  • And remember, swipes reset to 0 between rounds, so if you went crazy with right swipes last week, your job isn't done—consistency is key.
  • And to be eligible for a free ticket, you'd better keep your phone handy. After the winning campus is announced, a Tinder profile will be set up detailing the location and ticketing. If you're one of the lucky first 200 people who 1) participated in the contest and 2) swiped right on the profile, you'll be partying with Cardi on April 25.

The rapper's initial claim to fame was on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop, where she grew famous for her empowering and explicit prose (ed. note: shades of Cupcakke here). “Ever since I started using guys, I feel so much better about myself. I feel so damn powerful,” she said on one episode.

But since then, she has rocketed towards stardom, with a ride that started with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and has continued her rise with her single “Drip” and her verses on “Finesse” by Bruno Mars and “No Limit” by G–Eazy, in addition to her new album "Invasion of Privacy."

We tried and failed, but enjoy the Tinder matches you made along the way!
