I've been electrocuted. Twice.
And these two instances were within twenty seconds of each other.
Apparently, if you have a laptop on your lap, you should not try to turn on a lamp at the same time. I'm not sure why the two electrical currents react this way, but my spasmodic reaction - both times - taught me that the connection is unfortunate. and strange. Very strange.
"But two times?" you may ask. Well, the first time it occurred, it was quite unexpected. Now let me interrupt myself and say that while I am not what some may call "street smart," I am not entirely lacking in common sense. But I was so shocked by the first electrocution, I reached my arm to the bulb again. And then. well, you can guess what ensued.
Yet you don't need to conduct this particular experiment to feel a jolt of energy, dear readers. Consider Street your light bulb. Now you can be infused with energy without the hair-raising side effects. And coming back to us is nothing but common sense. In fact, it makes you Street smart.
We are your guide to what's up - what you should know about in the world around you, whether it's upcoming concerts (page 10), Restaurant Week rip-offs (page 6) and myriad other offerings for your reading pleasure.
And let me quell the rumors now: our awesome content is 100% authentic, just for you. Except, of course, for Low Brow, but that's all in good fun. Ignore the person who said if it's too good to be true, then it is. He (or she) never knew Street. So if interviewing actors and film directors strikes your fancy, then we are the place for you.
It's a new year - happy 2008! - and fittingly, we have a fabulous new staff to cater to all your arts & entertainment needs. We'll be here for you every Thursday.
Don't be left in the dark. Let Street be your guide.
Here's to you,
Kerry
