Tonight: West Philadelphia Orchestra

The Khyber, 21+

Is the idea of seeing the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center too classy for you? But do you still have an affinity for fine music? If you forgot to make reservations for a romantic dinner tonight, head down to Old City for the West Philadelphia Orchestra night. This collective of 15 local musicians from west of 40th came together in 2006 and have since maintained a cult-following throughout the city. Their music is influenced heavily by the eastern European styles of Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia - Baroque sounds straight from the block. If you want to warm your love's heart as well as your ears (not to mention your taste buds, with a solid selection of drinks at the bar), definitely make it out to catch one of Philadelphia's rare treats. $8.

2/16: Pissed Jeans

Johnny Brenda's, 21+

In Adam Sandler's seminal classic Billy Madison, Billy showed 5th graders around the world that peeing your pants was as cool as Miles Davis. Those 5th graders have grown up into mature adults now and outlets for immature, reckless fun has become harder to come by. Enter Pissed Jeans, Philly's local version of gritty, dirty hardcore rock. No effects, no costumes - just pure rock 'n' roll that might break your nose if someone's fist doesn't get there first. Make sure to pack an extra pair of undies. $8.

2/17: Jason Isbell and Will Hoge

World Cafe Live, All Ages

Since Jason Isbell's departure from Drive-By Truckers in April of 2007, he has embarked on a solo career that has garnered almost as much critical acclaim as his work with the group, turning out bluesy-pop with the help of The 400 Unit. Singer-songwriter Will Hoge, well-known for his high-energy live shows, will also make an appearance, touring for his newest album Draw the Curtains. They are supported by Dawn Landes, an up-and-coming songwriter from NYC by way of Louisville, KY, who has worked with the likes of Ryan Adams. Don't miss the evening of young talent. $15.

2/19: The Spice Girls

The Wachovia Center, All Ages

Do we really need to sell you on this one? The Fab Five are stateside and it's only a matter of time before one of them suffers from a celebrity breakdown, so catch them while you can. Relive your pre-pubescent days and "spice up your life." $72.50-122.50.

2/20: Black Mountain and Bon Iver

Johnny Brenda's, 21+

In a lineup marked with contrast, proggy, hard-rocking Black Mountain goes up against Bon Iver, the blogosphere's newest folk darling. The bands are touring behind their critically acclaimed new albums In the Future and For Emma, Forever Ago, both released by Jagjaguwar Records. $10.
