Santa Baby

A yuletide visit to the gynecologist would be more enjoyable than sitting through Four Christmases. Reese Witherspoon (in a determined attempt to destroy an otherwise promising career) and Vince Vaughn star as Kate and Brad, the perfect couple. Brad is a lawyer; Kate appears to have no profession other than wearing five-inch stilettos and smirking. When their plans to spend Christmas in Fiji fall through, they must endure four visits to their respective divorcee parents’ homes. Predictably, each house is a veritable asylum, stocked with totally unrealistic residents bent on tormenting the protagonists. Incredibly, it took four writers to fabricate the script, which stumbles through sentimental moments like an alcoholic uncle after too much eggnog. If you get a kick out of Vince Vaughn being punched in the crotch, this is the movie for you. Otherwise, this Thanksgiving, rent National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and enjoy your turkey coma.

‘Wicked: For Good’ is for the Theatre Kids

Wicked: For Good closes its story without awards recognition but with clear creative conviction. The film’s reception reflects a mismatch between its intentions and critical expectations. Designed as the second half of a continuous narrative, it prioritizes character depth and long-term emotional payoff over accessibility. In doing so, For Good succeeds less as a crowd-pleaser and more as a film made for those already invested in the world of Wicked.
