Street's To-Do List: June 10

Though vampires will probably dominate the big screen this summer (the newest Twilight comes out June 30), zombies can claim Philadelphia. The undead generally stay away from the sun, but that hasn’t stopped the folks behind the Zombie Prom from throwing the Philly Zombie Beach Party on Friday at the Trocadero Theatre. For just $7, you can get a zombie makeover from a professional makeup artist and groove to the hottest zombie jams. Friday 6/11, 8:00 p.m. ($10)

So it’s not technically the solstice, but the Philadelphia Magic Garden’s Summer Solstice Festival combats those oh-my-god-this-day-never-ends feelings. It’ll feature a mix of entertaining, eclectic narratives showcasing art in all its forms and concludes with a raucous dance party. What better way to celebrate a pagan holiday than with a little hedonism? Saturday 6/26, 1:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m. ($10)

Come rain or shine, this weekend’s Art for the Cash Poor is your chance to finally buy art that doesn’t come from IKEA. Some of the region’s best artists will be selling their work for under $199 — with much of the art costing less than $100 — enjoy the art and the music at the Crane Arts Building. Saturday, and Sunday 6/12-6/13, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Free!)
