Album Review: The Infamous Mobb Deep

"The Infamous Mobb Deep”—Mobb Deep

Slaying the gangster rap game isn’t something new to Queens rap duo Mobb Deep, who revolutionized the gangster rap genre ever since their album “The Infamous” dropped in 1995. Now with a remade album and collabs with names like Nas, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, Mobb Deep is still keeping their songs threatening, mean and what they like to call “sinister.” Each song, from the pre–released “Taking You Off Here” to “Legendary” (feat. Bun B and Juicy J) is chock full of gritty, fierce rhymes that keep it as real as the any previous LP. Fans should rejoice at the quality album that emcees Havoc and Prodigy have delivered—just enough classic 1990s gangster trashtalking mixed in with fiery beats.
