Top July Movies (Hopefully) Worth The Wait

I think we can all agree that there has yet to be a perfect summer movie yet this year. So many have be total flops (hello, Transformers: Age of Extinction) and are getting the worst reviews I have seen in awhile by critics and audiences. But rest assured avid moviegoers, the best is yet to come:

  1. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: The film reaches theatres this coming Friday July 11, and so far, has been highly–praised from advanced screening audiences. If you liked the first one that involved Caesar and his band of genetically evolved and super-smart primate, then you are probably going to want to see this one.
  2.  Sex Tape: Who doesn’t love Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz?  I honestly don’t even care if this ends up getting a bad review I will totally still see it.  If you enjoyed Bad Teacher and love these two clowns, be brave and go see this funny shit. Also: their sex tape would definitely have some weird shit.
  3. Lucy:  ScarJo. Morgan Freeman. Freaky mind control. (Ed note: now, that would've been a great lineup for Sex Tape). Lucy is about a woman that is implanted with a drug that turns her into an ass-kicking superhuman who can move shit with her mind and absorb knowledge so fast it’ll make your head spin. If you like action/sci-fi movies go, go, go!
  4. Hercules: Wait, didn’t someone else just come out with a Hercules movie not too long ago? This is almost getting pathetic. I say almost because, wait for it…. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is playing our beloved Greek demi-god. This should be full of action, adventure, and a seriously bulky Hercules. The end.

‘Wicked: For Good’ is for the Theatre Kids

Wicked: For Good closes its story without awards recognition but with clear creative conviction. The film’s reception reflects a mismatch between its intentions and critical expectations. Designed as the second half of a continuous narrative, it prioritizes character depth and long-term emotional payoff over accessibility. In doing so, For Good succeeds less as a crowd-pleaser and more as a film made for those already invested in the world of Wicked.
