This week, Casa Amor comes to a close. On their last days in separate villas, some islanders are struggling, while others have literally forgotten what their original partners looked like. Although Sincere, KC, and Corbin seem to be doing just fine in the Casa Amor villa, Bryce and the girls have been yearning to reunite with their original couples. Amid all the longing and kissing and contemplating, Alannah Keyser joins the infamous group of islanders booted from the show for resurfaced scandals. Mere hours before Casa comes to a close, each villa receives a postcard, and on each postcard islanders get to see photos of their original couple locking lips with someone new from Casa.
In the wake of the postcard mess, each islander must decide whether or not to stay loyal to their original couple—or choose a Casa bombshell to recouple with, potentially leaving their old flame single and vulnerable. After a day of pondering, Ariana returns to the villa. In a dramatic forty–five–minute recoupling, here’s how the chips fall:
Jen, who is currently single, chooses to couple with Gal.
Caleb, who is currently single, chooses to couple with Jaiden.
Kenzie, who is currently coupled with Corbin, chooses to couple with Dylan.
Corbin chooses to couple up with Parmida.
Kayda and Zach both choose to stay in their couple.
Melanie and Sincere both choose to stay in their couple.
Trinity and Bryce both choose to stay in their couple.
Aniya chooses to stay in her couple with KC.
And KC, who is currently coupled with Aniya, chooses to couple with Tierra.
The recoupling, as always, was majorly explosive. With girls fighting and boys cowering, it was hard to even get a grasp on what was really going on. It’s clear that the girls in this villa definitely have each other’s backs.
With all of the tension from the recoupling, the villa definitely needed some positive energy, and our girl Megan Thee Stallion makes her return for another hot girl challenge. As the islanders don their chef hats and itty–bitty shorts and bikinis, they are greeted by Meg, and lots and lots of cake (literal and figurative). First, the islanders play a game of musical chairs, but instead of running around in a circle, they’re twerking, and instead of chairs, they’re using … cake? After a lot of mess and tons of wasted cake, the second hot girl challenge allows islanders to air their grievances. Each boy gets a chance to throw a cake in the face of a girl that’s done them wrong, while each girl gets the chance to blast cream into the face of a guy who’s done the same. At the end of all of this, Meg reveals that America has voted for one boy and one girl who were dumped in Casa Amor to return to the villa. Out of two giant cake props, Carl and Amora reappear as the episode ends.
On Monday, we get to see Carl and Aniya reconnect, which is a point of positivity for all of the islanders after the blowout between KC, Tierra, and the OG villa girls at the Casa Amor recoupling. Bryce and Trinity also receive a text in the morning notifying them that they’re getting a chance to leave the villa and go on their first date. They jet ski out of the villa and make their way to a yacht in the middle of the Fijian sea where Bryce finally pops the question and asks Trinity to be his girlfriend, making them the first official couple of the season. Parmida also seems to close things off with Corbin, but he doesn’t seem too excited about their making things exclusive. While some couples flourish, others are dying, and that night, Jen and Gal get into an argument where they both decide to break things off with one another.
Tuesday night is part one of movie night, which fans have been begging for since they skipped over it last season. As the islanders gather round with their buckets of popcorn, you could cut the tension with a knife. The islanders alternate between boys and girls, flipping a coin to decide who picks which movie to watch. The first movie shows Zach and Alannah throughout Casa Amor, which reveals just how much he withheld from Kayda. Kisses, cuddles in bed, and chats about life outside of the villa all leave Kayda fuming—but this is only the beginning.
The next movie is just straight up disrespectful: KC chatting with Corbin about how he feels like Aniya isn’t giving him enough sexually, calling Aniya a grandma, and his first kisses with Tierra and dumped Casa girl Sydney. The second movie also reveals that Alannah left the villa before the Casa recoupling, meaning Zach only came back single by default, not because he picked Kayda over her. The third movie is shorter, but causes a big riff between the guys and girls. It shows conversations and kisses that Carl and Aniya shared in Casa Amor. While the boys cry double standards, the girls attempt to argue that the way Aniya behaved was much more respectful of KC, reminding him that she never spoke negatively about him while exploring a new connection with Carl.
The final movie on Tuesday throws it way back to week two with back–to–back clips of conversations between Sincere and Melanie and Sincere and Sol. It reveals Sincere calling them the same pet names, swearing he’s choosing Melanie over Sol, and then telling Sol the opposite. This is truly one of the first times in LIUSA history that, as an audience member, I’ve truly felt uncomfortable watching a scene. Instead of screaming or starting a fight, though, Melanie just sits silently waiting for it to be over. It really was a tough watch, but it’s not over yet.
On Thursday evening, movie night continues, and I’m sure the fights will too.
