What Our Music Beat's Listening To: Aliya Chaudhry

Hi! I’m Aliya. I’m a senior majoring in English and minoring in Political Science, and I never outgrew my scene phase. I’m super excited to be a music beat for Street because rock music is a huge part of my life. My favorite band is All Time Low. I’ve been listening to them since I was 13, but I’ve been a fan of pop–punk pretty much for life (I’ve been listening to Fall Out Boy since I was 10 and Yellowcard since I was six). I also listen to a lot of emo, post–hardcore and metalcore—basically, if it has guitar, riffs and thoughtful or witty lyrics, I’m into it. I’m excited to share this kind of music with Street readers and not at all embarrassed that I listen to music that hasn’t been cool since middle school.
