Parts Pete Should Have Played

Pete’s a unique guy with many talents. Could one of them be acting? We dreamt about how he’d do in these films and here's what we saw.

Trailer of the Week: “World War Z”

The trailer for the post-apocalyptic film “World War Z” provides a glimpse into one of next summer’s blockbusters in which Brad Pitt races to stop a zombie outbreak from destroying the world. What We Love: Brad Pitt.

Street's Oscar Predictions

As the major contenders hit theaters, the Film editors call their picks for February’s Academy Awards. (Actual nominations are announced January 15th.)

Trailer of the Week: "Parker"

Jason Statham takes on the role of Parker, similar to Lee Marvin in “Point Blank” and Mel Gibson in “Payback.” This time around, director Taylor Hackford tells the story of a thief with some morals.

Guilty Pleasure: "Freaky Friday" (2003)

Before her crowning role as Cady Heron, and long before her rebellious streak and bouts of drug addiction, Lindsay Lohan turned out some deliciously addictive family classics: including “The Parent Trap” (1998), “Life–Size” (2000) and of course, “Freaky Friday.” In “Freaky Friday,” Lohan plays the fifteen–year–old Anna Coleman, an angsty teenage girl resentful of her mom Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) for not taking her dreams of being a rock star seriously (we’ve all been there, girlfriend) and for getting remarried too soon after the death of her father.

Trailer of the Week: "Side Effects"

The eerie trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s star–studded psychological thriller, “Side Effects,” hit the web on Friday with the morbidly cheesy tagline, “In Some Instances, Death May Occur.” What We Love: This manic trailer is cryptic but enthralling, painting a dark and sensuous world where nice young women start popping prescription pills to manage anxiety, wake up next to dead bodies and have to start asking themselves the hard questions.  The trailer, like its characters, seems to dance on the edge of a nervous breakdown, flickering with paranoia, scandal and lots of drugs—a potent cocktail for a psychological thriller.

"Tabu" Brings the Drama

Portuguese drama “Tabu” revives the tumult of classic cinema and injects it with a dose of eccentric energy.
