Tuesday 9/25: Twin Shadow, Union Transfer, All Ages, $15

Twin Shadow is the stage-name of George Lewis, Jr. His 2010 debut, “Cover,” was produced by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor. Twin Shadow’s success—built on the back of a 1980s new wave inspired sound—led to spots at Coachella and Bonnaroo and a slot opening for Florence + the Machine in 2011. Lewis is on tour now in support of his 2012 sophomore effort, “Confess.” Twin Shadow plays at Union Transfer with Niki and the Dove at 8pm.

Thursday 9/27: St. Vincent and David Byrne, Tower Theatre, All Ages, $39.50

In the past year, St. Vincent and David Byrne teamed up to write and make “Love This Giant,” a collaborative effort that followed after Byrne performed with St. Vincent and contributed to her album “Here Lies Love.” The album’s cover is an unsettling image that grew out of a “Beauty and the Beast” joke between the two, because of their difference in ages—but despite its absurdity, the picture is also a cipher for both their quirky partnership and its product. St. Vincent and David Byrne play at Tower Theatre at 8pm.

Sunday 9/30: The Antlers, Union Transfer, All Ages, $15

Propelled by the success of narrative-driven album “Hospice” from Brooklyn to Lollapalooza and an appearance on Jimmy Fallon, The Antlers released EP “Undersea” in July. The songs are hazy, coasting waves of watery sound, with singer Peter Silbermann’s silky vocals floating on top. Don’t miss The Antlers with Port St Willow at Union Transfer at 8pm.
