The other morning, as on so many mornings, I scrolled through my documentation of the previous night. I noted the snapchats and videos—the irreverent sips from red solo cups, the dorm room dancing to Roses and Hotline Bling, the perfectly logical declaration that it was time to "climb Huntsman." Then: photos in the Uber to Trilogy, photos at Trilogy itself and photos gleefully announcing we survived the night. Typical freshman girl stuff.

What was not so typical was my discovery that I had not taken static photographs, but live ones. By holding my finger on my phone, I could watch my friends sway back and forth, adjust their hair and move in and out of place. Apparently, live action photography was part of an iOS update and I didn't notice. Now, with the tap of the touchscreen, you can transform still photos into short movie clips with footage from the second before and after the photo was taken. So it's true—I'm from Silicon Valley and have the technological know–how of a grandma.

If you were even a little amused by the iOS update, download the spatial photography app Fyuse. Fyuse is like live action photography's hot big sister. Instead of awkwardly short videos, you get an interactive panorama in app form. Who wouldn't want an interactive panorama in app form?

How it works

There's a built in, two–way camera. You press and hold to record a Fyuse, move your phone panorama–style and release when you're done. Then you build galleries out of these glorious creations. There's a main feed with featured Fyuses, so obviously your goal should be to get on it. There's a social component to the app – you "heart" Fyuses to like them and "echo" Fyuses to retweet them. You can explore Fyuses by popularity, location and what's trending. You can even send and receive messages. Regardless of what you choose to do with Fyuse, you should add @carolineharris. Right now I have a grand total of zero followers, probably because my Facebook friends don't know Fyuse exists. It exists.

But would you use it? Not going to lie, Fyuse is probably not for everyday use. It's worth downloading for when the view around you is breathtakingly beautiful and you want to capture it. Are you at a ski resort or on a tropical vacation? a) I'm jealous and b) Fyuse it.

TL;DR: Fyuse is fun, free and will make you feel artsier than you actually are.
