Take a break from class and treat yourself to a day at the Body Klinic. Obsession is not an overstatement when referring to this place.
Upon entry, one is warmly welcomed and offered a hot or cold drink during the wait in the plush chairs in the front hall. The entire spa is contained on the small first floor of a posh Rittenhouse townhouse, giving it a cozy feel. The manicure table is located in the hallway, allowing one to watch the other clientele pottering into the various spa rooms further down the hall. The aromatherapy scents wafting throughout the room add to the tasteful and relaxing ambiance.
Besides the delightful Persian-cum-Western decor, the best characteristic by far of the Body Klinic is its staff. Most people hate talking to hairdressers and the like, but if you request Ukrainian-born Natalyia Nykich, your fears will be laid to rest. With whom else can you talk about the Orange Revolution, croissants and the Eagles all in one 30-minute manicure appointment? The manicures are also not just the basic run of the mill procedure but, "an aromatic soaking: a mixture of dead sea mineral salt, coconut lime, mango, mandarin, pomegranate and palmeria." If that's not your thing, the Body Klinic offers a wide array of other services including massages, facials, waxing, and electrolysis. Definitely indulge in a foot reflexology session.
In honor of Valentine's Day, the Body Klinic has added a few specialty treatments to the menu. Wannabe perfect girlfriends can get their bikini shaped into a heart as a broadcast of their undying love. Couples can also go in for the kama sutra massages or a how to be limber in bed tutorial session.
Overall, the Body Klinic is impressive. The atmosphere is casual and homey, and the service is impeccable. And if you only think this place is for girls, don't worry boys, they offer a "man bikini wax"
