Spring is here. You know what that means: warmer weather, inappropriate mating behavior and mob scenes on Locust Walk. Luckily, we at Street have come to the rescue with a less aggressive means to enjoy yourself at Penn.

Pennchants: Tuning is Half the battle

Cinemagic at Penn

3925 Walnut St.

Fri-Sat, 8 p.m., $6 on the walk, $7 at the door

dolphin.upenn.edu/~pchants

The Pennchants, an all-male a cappella group at Penn, will be performing their current show "Tuning is Half the Battle" this weekend. The self-proclaimed "all-male sonic avalanche" (how modest) will be sure to whet your musical appetite. The show is at the formerly defunct Cinemagic Theater (which shows how much I know about music venues) and is sure to be the opposite of a "stuffy" a cappella show, what with their self-described "rugged good looks" (so go get 'em ladies!).

Dischord: D12: The Mighty Dischord

Dunlop Auditorium

Stemmler Hall

3450 Hamilton Walk

Sun, 8 p.m.,$7

dolphin.upenn.edu/~dischord

Dischord is the community service group here at Penn. They're a little younger than some of the other groups, but that doesn't mean that they don't know how to belt out a tune; the group's got a catchy repertoire that's sure to entertain. And if that's not enough for you, at least we know they've got a plentiful knowledge of pop culture; judging from the title, they could tell us a thing or two about Joshua Jackson (pre-Dawson. If their music isn't a good enough reason to come, then that probably is.

Penn Singers: Spindrift

Zellerbach Theater

3680 Spruce St.

Thu-Sat, 8 p.m., $6-8

dolphin.upenn.edu/~psingers

Most people don't get enough light opera in their lives, and certainly not enough of Gilbert and Sullivan-style performances. The exception is probably those precious few who wander around singing songs from The Pirates of Penzance (it's just that catchy). Anyway, if you're looking for a little operetta, then luckily the Penn Singers are performing Spindrift for their spring show. That ought to fill the gaping void in all our lives quite nicely.

Penn Six: Pauper's Sherry

Irvine Auditorium

34th and Spruce Sts.

Fri, 8:17 p.m., $4-6

dolphin.upenn.edu/~pennsix

Penn Six is the funniest all-male a capella group ever to have rocked Penn deaf. Their blend of vulgar sketch comedy mixed with rock tunes and originals about the hilarity of being homeless provides for a fun-filled evening. At the last show, they previewed the Penn Six film, which ended with an exploding Huntsman Hall. If you like abortion jokes, you'll love Penn Six!

Arts House Dance Company: Bring It!

Annenberg Center

Harold Prince Theatre

3680 Walnut St.

Thu-Sat, 8 p.m., $7 on the walk, $8 at the door

dolphin.upenn.edu/~ahdc

Greek Weekend is over, and, though you can't remember much about it, the one part that remains seared in your memory is this: Penn kids can't dance. No room is dark enough, and no drink strong enough, to change the basic fact that most of us have no clue how to drop down and get our collective eagles on; that's where the Arts House Dance Company comes in. Not only do they perform drug-free and well-lit, they also just plain know what they're doing.

Yofi!: YOFI!ALITY

Steinhardt Hall

215 S. 39th St.

Sat, 8:30 p.m., free

What do cereal and Israeli danceing have in common? Well, apparently a lot according to Yofi!, Penn's own Israeli dance troupe. Not only will you be able to see the sexiest (and kosher-est) dances this side of the Mediterranean, but you'll be able to watch the show while enjoying a free bowl of cereal. So forgo your daily Cereality fix, put the new Matisyahu CD pack in its case, and check out Yofi!ality.

Full Measure: Free For All

Rainey Theatre: The Cathedral

38th and Chestnut Sts.

Sat, 6 p.m., $6 on the walk, $7 at the door

dolphin.upenn.edu/~fullm

Full Measure does for a cappella what Whoopi Goldberg did for church choir. Their spring show is sure to be a mix of songs that are so catchy you won't even see the underlying moral until it's too late and you've become a better person. Which, as we all know, is the best kind of Christianity. Sort of like Chronicles of Narnia: you know you liked it, and you know what else? That big lion was actually Jesus. Omigod!

Dzine2Show: Wonderland

Hall of Flags

Houston Hall

3417 Spruce St.

Fri, 8:15 p.m., $15-20

Let's face it: you wanna be a supermodel. You don't care what your teacher says; you idolize Cindy Crawford and your dream is to be on Project Runway, modeling the designs while Heidi gushes about your bone structure. Well, although you may never become famous enough to throw a hissy-fit like Naomi, you can come one step closer to model-dom. This weekend, Dzine2Show is presenting their awesome fashion designs to the public; the theme is Wonderland, so your dreams of dressing like a white rabbit or an acid queen aren't dashed after all.
