Vagabond 37 N. 3rd Street
Six years ago, Mary Clark and Megan Murphy set up shop - literally - in the now-trendy Old City area. Today, their boutique Vagabond is unequaled in its variety of clothing, accessories, yarn (yes, yarn) and kitschy housewares. Though also featuring more mainstream lines like Foley & Corinna and J Brand, local designers' collections are not to be missed. Vagabond's back room not only features bags and shoes, but also creative art exhibits that rotate monthly. The boutique also participates in First Fridays, so check out the new art at their groovy events held the first Friday of every month. Also of note are Stella Pop and City of Brotherly Love, lines designed by Clark and Murphy, respectively. Brotherly is a Free People-esque line of dresses and tops; Stella Pop is a collection of funky hand-knit sweaters, all of which are made in Philly. Clark describes Vagabond as "new and edgy, but with an old way of doing things"; it is this blend of old and new that has kept customers loyal to the store since its opening.
