Because You Believe In Magic Halloween has come and gone, but you still have a chance to practice your wizardry skills. For all you Muggles out there who have always wanted to make magic, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 16, Penn’s Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology will transform into the Magical Muggle Museum. If you’re the kind of guy who broke his nose trying to run into Platform 9 and 3/4, this is your shot to live the Hogwarts dream, throw your chemistry textbooks aside and practice your hand at potions. Hunt for hidden treasures throughout the museum, learn about the history of magic, design your own Luna Lovegood jewelry and embrace your inner geek. It’s going to be Muggle mania. —Lauren Talman
Because GOOGLE MAPS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING Art and technology go hand in hand: programs like Photoshop and iMovie can elevate the computer geek to the level of artistic genius. Embracing this maxim, electronic media artist Wil Lindsay has used his artist’s touch to rewire GPS-based memory-locating apparatuses. His mission is to familiarize even the most erudite of philosophy majors with sophisticated technology through interactive exhibits. Lindsay has taught workshops with this goal in mind, helping students to construct their own GPS systems. Locating Memory, the featured exhibit at the Esther M. Klein Art Gallery until Dec. 28, is the culmination of his workshops. The gallery, located at 3600 Market St. in the Science Center, hosts many local artists who share Lindsay’s passion for technology-based art. Stop by the opening of Locating Memory tomorrow night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. — it’s free and you won’t need an engineering degree to enjoy yourself. —Harrison Tenzer
Because You Should Turn On, Tune In (And Drop Out) Networks are breaking out their big guns for November Sweeps. Grey’s Anatomy (Scrubs for the humor-challenged) fans will be psyched to see a new McFace as Academy Award-nominated actress Mary McDonnell guest stars in tonight’s episode. On 30 Rock, Jennifer Aniston makes an appearance tonight as a character straight out of Fatal Attraction. The next big night is Monday, Nov. 17, when SNL alumna (and Philly native) Cheri Oteri guest stars on Boston Legal as a woman who gets fired from her job because she voted for John McCain. Because there really hasn’t been enough election drama on TV lately. And don’t forget about Gossip Girl, the guiltiest of all pleasures. If Cyndi Lauper’s surprise cameo didn’t satisfy, the next episode will drop some serious hints about the season’s biggest question: which major player is about to get axed? —Darina Shtrakhman
