We love fall. The only thing that can make us feel better about the end of autumn is our favorite quintessential winter activity: ice skating. And if you’re thinking that the rink on campus has a less-than-romantic atmosphere, you’re in luck; Philly’s one and only outdoor ice skating rink, the Blue Cross RiverRink at Penn’s Landing, is re-opening at noon on November 28. To celebrate the start of its fifteenth season, RiverRink (on Columbus Boulevard at Market Street) will have free activities all day next Friday, a fun alternative to Black Friday mayhem. The outdoor Olympic-sized rink boasts the perfect view of the Delaware River, and if your ass starts to freeze from falling one too many times, you can take the party inside to the heated snack bar and game room. There’s a live DJ every Friday and Saturday night from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. If your skating skills are less than stellar, you can take lessons on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Admission is only $7 and $8 for Friday and Saturday nights respectively, plus $3 for skate rental.
