Critically acclaimed Portland trio Menomena released their third LP this year, after leaving fans in anxious anticipation for three years following the release of Friend and Foe. In promotion of Mines, the band is touring the country, treating converts and devotees alike with their quirky blend of loop-driven math-rock.

Saturday, 10/2: Midtown Village Fall Festival, 13th St. between Chestnut and Locust, Free

The Gayborhood, inconspicuously branded "Midtown Village" for the occasion, will host a bevy of activities for its fifth annual celebration of the autumnal season. The event will feature a dunk tank, shopping, art, live music and special offers at restaurants like Tweed and El Vez. Here’s hoping some pumpkin ale will be on the menu.
