Street's former Editor–in–Chief, Sarah Beth McKay, says peace out to Penn as our last Ego of the year. As you’ll gather from her super–sentimental final Letter from the Editor, this Friar is as sweet as Southern iced tea, but that doesn’t stop her from dreaming about the Quaker.

Street: My PennCard photo looks like I’m… Sarah Beth Mckay: Shiny. Or, as we say in the South, “glowing.”

Street: What did was the most important thing you learned as Street EIC? SBM: Don’t mess with Rachel Brill or Phillies’ fans. Shoutouts are life.

Street: There are two types of people at Penn… SBM: People who know where Charles Addams is, or for that matter where the DP Offices are, and people who still use Windows Live.

Street: If SB didn't stand for Sarah Beth, what else would it stand for? SBM: Silly bandz.

Street: What's the weirdest dream you’ve ever had? SBM: I have a lot of wild and crazy dreams, but this one time I dreamt that I woke up in bed with the Quaker. That was weird.

Street: Street is to The DP as ___ is to ___. SBM: Street is to The DP as Pixar is to Disney. Disney’s a solid stock option, but how amazing was Toy Story 3?

Street: What don’t most people know about you? SBM: In middle school, I wrote a Harry Potter FanFiction based on the plot of You’ve Got Mail. I gave it to [my predecessor] Julia Rubin as a graduation present.

Street: You’re this week’s ego. Who’s your alter–ego? SBM: Raya Jalabi.

Street: What’s your favorite Street cover from your time at Penn? SBM: Dan Schwartz’s photography makes the Zombie Prom cover a clear winner. But of the ones I can take credit for, it’s got to be the “Sweet Taste of Success” cover from September 2008 — I made the Penn logo out of gummy bears and celery!

Street: If you were in a reality show, which would it be? SBM: “Curb Appeal” on HGTV. Or, perhaps more honestly, as a bridal consultant on “Say Yes To The Dress.”

Street: What will you miss most about Penn? SBM: Honest to god, the people. But also pho.

Street: If you had to write one last Letter from the Editor, what would you say? SBM: It’d be cheesy, of course. As Penn students, we’re the luckiest — this bubble of a community is perched perfectly at the junction of a wonderful city, an education full of opportunity and a never–sleepy yet accessible social scene. Leave Van Pelt! Live off campus! Be a Philadelphian, but don’t be so campus–shy that you miss jumping around to Kweder’s “Heroin” at Smoke’s. While I’m devastated that my time here is coming to its final curtain call, I’m just simply so happy to have been able to call it my home.
