Why not an art auction and wine gala?  Nothing says “I went to an Ivy” like drinking hundred(s)–dollar bottles of wine and splurging on art to hang over your fireplace mantle.  Also, apparently wine comes in units called “Nebuchadnezzars.”

195 international craft artists converge on the Pennsylvania Convention Center to sell their tchotchkes, sculptures, textiles, paintings and more.  At night, various cocktail soirees take place.  In addition to arts and crafts, the event offers “beer and business”— isn’t that why most of us are at Penn?

Love local theater, but can never force yourself to donate to Philly theater companies?  Well, come to the Flashpoint Brewfest, all you have to do is sample the microbrews to make a difference in an artist’s life — the proceeds go to the Flashpoint Theater Company.  Plus, it’s tax–deductible!  The Salvation Army should really adopt this policy.
