Download of the Week - Burn

Ellie Goulding surely never lived as a caveman but she is well aware of the importance of fire. In her new single, the first off a rebooted version of her 2012 album “Halcyon,” which will include new songs, remixes and collaborations, including “I Need Your Love” with Calvin Harris, Goulding embraces the healing power of the flame. She wrote the track with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, so radio dominance is inevitable. With a triumphant message about defiance and celebration, Ellie’s throaty voice cuts through an electronic beat that could kick off many a frat party. As she croons, “We, we don’t have to worry bout nothing/Cause we got the fire, and we're burning one hell of a something,” it’s impossible to worry about the ramifications of so much burning. It’s summer, and all one can do is dance. And let it burn.
