12:50 p.m.: Get out of class and head to Houston for lunch (obviously I would’ve gone to Frontera, but I was in a hurry).

12:52 p.m.: Get in the salad line.

1:00 p.m.: Done! Head to cash register.

1:01 p.m.: Waiting in line, eyes wander over to the drink and ice cream cases. Something catches my eye in the back corner of the Ben and Jerry’s case. Is that…? No, it can’t be.

1:02 p.m.: IT IS! Ben and Jerry’s Cores! And in every flavor!

1:03 p.m.: Buy every flavor, $6 a pop (Houston is overpriced AF—these would only cost $4.39 at your average grocery store).

1:04 p.m.: Immediately create a Snapchat story, post an Instagram photo and email sorority listserv. Yes, I am singlehandedly responsible for Houston’s sellout.

1:06 p.m.: Most excited to try Hazed and Confused, so we open that one first. It’s hazelnut and chocolate ice cream with fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge core—everyone online said it’s a Nutella lover’s dream. Well, turns out it’s not. First of all, the pictures online are misleading. It’s not three perfect stripes of ice cream and fudge. When you open it, it just looks like one flavor, and you have to dig around a bit to find the core. Once there, it’s not even that exciting—the hazelnut fudge is nowhere near as rich and creamy as Nutella. Time to move on to the next flavor.

1:08 p.m.: Next up is That’s My Jam, chocolate and raspberry ice cream with fudge chips and a raspberry core. As a lover of all things chocolate–raspberry, I was delighted. The raspberry jam is perfectly tart, and it adds a bright touch to the chocolate ice cream. Not gonna lie though, some might find the jam–ice cream combination a little weird.

1:10 p.m.: Now for the Peanut Butter Fudge, which is chocolate and peanut butter ice cream with mini peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core. Honestly, this one tastes really good. The flavors blend nicely (I mean how could chocolate and peanut butter not?) That said, it’s really not much different from the many ice cream varieties that already exist with peanut butter cups, fudge swirls and the like. This doesn't look like what we saw online...

1:12 p.m.: Finally, the Salted Caramel, which is sweet cream ice cream with blondies and a salty caramel core. This one tastes damn good, but it has the same problem as the last one. The caramel is wonderfully salty and sweet, yet it’s a mix of flavors you can certainly find in other ice creams. However, if you’re looking for something simple to fill that sweet tooth, this one’s your best bet.

1:14 p.m.: All in all, even my lactose intolerant friends said that these were worth a try. Best $24 I ever spent bursared.
