Remix Wednesday: “Burn”—Ellie Goulding (Four Tet Remix)

I know what you’re thinking: “Another remix of “Burn”? I’ve had enough f**king EDM already.” But fear not, that’s exactly what this remix isn’t about. Instead of a standard 4/4 beat and a massive mind–bending drop, producer Kieran Hebden (AKA Four Tet) does something startlingly different here. Relying instead on an unsure shuffle to nudge the song forward and forgoing the incredible catchy chorus (“burn, burn, burn, burn” ad infinitum), Hebden manages to create something beautifully ethereal from something rather straightforward. If you haven’t heard this brilliant remix yet, you need to listen now. Get ready for a journey.
