In a hotly contested battle, Sean Foley lost the election for President of the Class of 2005 to incumbent Jack Cohen, in a disputed decision. 34th Street caught up with Foley after the results of the election were announced. What are your feelings on losing? I just say congratulations to Jack, no hard feelings. I realize that maybe, at least, we exchanged e-mails last night and he pointed out that he felt that I was, I guess, splitting hairs and, to some extent, maybe I was, but I felt that I had a legitimate concern. I brought it to the proper authorities and they decided what they decided, that he was not in violation. I'm not going to try to bash that decision. You said that you didn't know what 34th Street is. Could part of the reason you lost be that people like 34th Street didn't support you? I don't know, did they support Jack Cohen? Do you think the decision they made tonight about your protest- was it the right decision?

They are the experts, with the FPC, the Fair Practices Code. They're better versed in it than I am. Obviously I thought that I had a legitimate concern, but you know, a decision has been made, and there's nothing I can do about it, and I'm not going to say that it was a bad decision. It was a decision. What was your campaign strategy? Basically, trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. I know that a lot of students are probably concerned with the issues, but I know that a lot of people go on name recognition, so I tried to make as many flyers and posters as possible, to talk to as many people as possible. Did you have a slogan? I didn't have a slogan, per se, but I tried to associate my name, "Sean," with other famous "Seans" -- Sean Puffy Combs, Sean Connery... Sean Shaquille O'Neal? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, is his first name Sean? That's me. No, is Shaquille O'Neal's first name Sean? No, I thought the "sh" in both names... I was kind of at a loss for famous Seans. And that's where you got Shakira from, too? Yeah. So do you think name recognition was a problem? Maybe people voted for Shakira instead of Sean. Yeah, it may have been a write-in, I don't know. Are you going to run again next year? I don't think so. Not for President, at least. Why not? It seems like people are pretty happy with Jack's job. I campaigned pretty hard, but Jack ended up winning, so I guess people are content to have him as President. I don't know, I guess we'll see what the future will hold. They won't have Sean Foley to kick around any more? Excuse me? For the full text of this interview, as well as up to the minute campaign analysis, go to www.DailyPennsylvanian.com.
