MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES VS. CINCINNATI REDS Veterans Stadium 3501 S. Broad St. Fri & Sat, 7:05 p.m. Sun, 1:05 p.m. $10-$28 (215) 336-2000

For the first time in about 50 years, the Phillies are in the playoff hunt. Actually, the first time in two years, but who's counting. Anyway, Veterans Stadium is in its last days -- less than 10 games left -- and Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day. You get a free Vet replica if you go. So take the Subway to the ol' Vet and boo the crap out of the Reds this weekend.

NCAA FOOTBALL: PENN QUAKERS vS. DUQUESNE DUKES Franklin Field 235 S. 33rd St. Sat, 6 p.m., Free with PennCard (215) 898-1748 A conversation between my friend Steve and I about the Penn-Duquesne game: Me: "Penn is going to win by about 60 this weekend." Steve: "If they play the game, that is." Me: "They're going to play the game." Steve: "I don't know... I don't think they're going to get the game in with the hurricane." Me: "I bet you they will." Steve: "No, I'm not betting. I'm not going to try and predict the weather." Denny: "You just did predict the weather"
