Dat Phan Comedy Hour Meyerson Hall B1 210 S. 34th Street Fri, 8 p.m., Free

What do you do in the summer when you don't have cable television? You catch up on your reality shows. Wait, you do that even when you do have cable television. Since I keep a tally of everything related to Asian domination, two Asians won reality shows this summer. The first was that spark plug of a guy named Harlem who won Fame. That guy sure could sing. I think he later revealed he was almost forty, but that's cool. Follow your dreams. Then there was Dat Phan. He rocked the comedy world and also managed to alienate everyone living in that house with him. Two for two, baby.

Mike Brooks Laff House 221 South Street Fri, 8:30 p.m., 9:45 p.m., $12.50-$15 (215) 440-4242 http://www.laffhouse.com

I'm going to break the traditions of writing for the guides section, and let it be known that my name is John Brooks. This guy, Mike Brooks, is my distant cousin, and he's also my spiritual mentor. He's helped me through the tough times: the heroin, the crack and the haggis. Without his help, I don't think I'd be leading the placid respirator-dependent life I lead today. If only he could do something for my sister, who spends her days watering dolls -- and her nights talking to Coke bottles.

Eddie Izzard Merriam Theater at University of the Arts 250 South Broad Street Tue, 8 p.m., $30-50 (215) 732-5446 Eddie Izzard is a cross-dressing Brit. He's also downright laugh-out-loud funny. Zany, some might call it. He's gonna be kicking it in grand old style at the University of the Arts, and that's just fine with all of us. For anyone that caught any of his numerous television appearances, CDs, or DVDs, his trip into Philadelphia is much anticipated. I guess it goes without saying that I really don't know who this guy is, or why I should shell out a week's salary for him. Wait, Street doesn't pay me. And I do know him. I'm just going nuts. Leave me alone.

Congrats to last week's winner: Xandria James ‏@XandriaJames‬ "Shut up. You're 22 and you're still talking about bat mitzvah money as a source of income." Honestly nothing surprises me anymore #Penn
