There is only one thing Highbrow likes more than nice weather, and that friends, is day drinking. Toasts to the Spring-esque weather and the Fling-esque drinking. After a debaucherous week of drinking during break, God — or something — blessed us with nice weather and St. Patty’s day. Aka: excuses to drink early and conspicuously. Both the Tabard and Theos pledges were spotted enjoying green drinks on the green. We do not appreciate that your giant tarps completey take over of the green, but we salute your color coordination and your commitment to St. Patrick.
For St. Patty's day folks flocked to Penn's token irish pub, Blarney, to get their day drinking on. Though sources say people were doing coke straight off the long tables in the front of the bar, we still support this festive locale.
For us Penn students, moving is an unfortunate reality. Pretty much every year for four years we pack up our lives to relocate to slightly different on or off-campus locales. Highbrow is sick of moving. This week involved a lot of unnecessary location changes. Eff that.
When this weekend’s Mortar Board smoker had trouble getting its crew into Drinkers West, they had to schlep the shindig up Samson to Blarney. The Blarney owner begrudgingly obliged, but not before clarifying “Blarney is an Omega bar.”
The highly anticipated Theos Heaven and Hell party had such a low turnout that scenesters migrated to the Owls house. Unfortunately, the party was too off-the-hook and the po-po had to shut it down. This led to yet another migration to a nocturnal birdboy’s apartment. All that moving to all those different cool-kids clubs is making our heads hurt.
