Take a Break From Reality

If you need a study break, your first thought might not be to go see a musical. But even if you’re not a Glee devotee, or a closet fan of High School Musical, there’s something undeniably heartwarming about seeing a cast of characters unrealistically break into song — especially live.

DIY Gifts That Don't Break the Bank

How to: Make a personalized shot glass... Step 1: Buy a shot glass and several tubes of paint (or paint pens). We found a set of six shot glasses (along with a handy decanter) at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College’s gift shop ($11.99) and two tubes of fluorescent paint from Urban Outfitters ($8). Step 2: Decorate the shot glass with artistic flourishes or pithy sayings. Step 3: Let the painted glass dry for 24 hours. Step 4: Bake the shot glass in the oven for 40 minutes.

Monster of Pop

At first glance, Lady Gaga’s most recent release, The Fame Monster, looks like a typical moneymaking B-sides release attached at the hip to her debut hit-machine, The Fame. But don’t be fooled.

My Blackest Friday

I’ll admit it: I love Black Friday. Not for the deals, although they can be quite impressive. In my family, Black Friday is an adventure in retail.
