Experiential Art: An Interview With Sound Artist Michael Kiley

On April 5, Philly musician and sound designer Michael Kiley, also known as The Mural and the Mint, releases an iPhone app called The Empty Air. It plays music filtered with ambient noise that corresponds to the user’s location in Rittenhouse Square Park. Who knew birds, rustling leaves, church bells and your conversations could be art?
