Music Video Sunday: "Dolce & Gabbana"—RiFF RaFF

RiFF RaFF-- the rapper whom (supposedly, but it's basically definite) James Franco's "Alien" character from Spring Breakers is based off of-- has graced with us a new music video for his single "Dolce & Gabbana."  With deep and profound lyrics such as "Only f*** with hoes who rock Dolce & Gabbana," RiFF RaFF keeps it ridiculous as usual.

Philadelphify Your Music

You could wait another year for your favorite band to stop in town for one night only. Or you could check out these Philly–based bands who are always here (and might even be better).

Album Review: "Spreading Rumours"—Grouplove

Grouplove’s choice to experiment more on their sophomore album, “Spreading Rumours,” further proves they are capable of more than 2011’s radio hit “Tongue Tied.” “Spreading Rumours” ranges from crooning to pulsing beats and back over 13 tracks, occasionally all in one song (“Shark Attack” or “Hippy Hill”), while more upbeat songs like “Ways to Go,” the lead single, are likelier to reach larger audiences.

Album Review: "MGMT"—MGMT

While widely known for breakthrough pop songs off their first album, MGMT’s most recent output continues to shun mainstream pop in favor of the experimental style they pursued on “Congratulations,” but “MGMT” meanders when it needs to focus.

Album Review: "A.M."—Arctic Monkeys

“Do I Want to Know?” the first track on the Arctic Monkeys’ highly–anticipated fifth studio album, starts out with a thumping bass like the stomping of a marching band announcing its arrival.

Album Review: "Apar"—Delorean

2013 has seen the summer of electro–pop, and Spanish dance outfit Delorean offers a contribution in the form of its new album “Apar.” The band has Basque origins and a characteristic sound—a sunny, melodic optimism that drives the album forward with relentless cheer.
