Street: You’re working on your Masters in Government Administration. How is it straddling the undergrad/grad domains? Natalie Vernon: The personalities: it's like going from a hipster party past its prime (Public Financial Management) to a Beige Block mixer (PSYC 001).

Street: Why are Midwesterners like yourself so darn friendly? NV: Maybe there’s something in the corn?

Street: What's the strangest SAC request you’ve ever received? NV: Last year a team-who-shall-remain-nameless requested dildos for group bonding activities. Needless to say we did not grant the request.

Street: Most underrated thing about Penn? Overrated? NV: Underrated: Living with 6 guys. Overrated: OCR.

Street: Any secrets you learned during your stint as a White House staffer? NV: George W. Bush can read.

Street: So you spent this past summer working in Botswana­. What haven’t you done? NV: Latin America? Summer Olympics 2016?

Street: Any other life plans? NV: Take advantage of as much as life has to offer. Who knows where that may take me? Law school? Moscow? Sportscasting for Channel 9 News in Cedar Rapids, Iowa? Go Hawkeyes!

Street: What don’t most people know about you? NV: I love tap dancing. I was a cheerleader in high school. It’s all about sequins and spirit fingers.

Street: If you could have a superpower for a day, what would it be? NV: The power to make everyone an idealist. To loosely quote Steve Emtman in The Little Giants, life is “80% mental and 40% physical.”

Street: Coolest person you’ve met? NV: Hands down Maya Angelou. Truly inspiring.

Street: There are two types of people at Penn... NV: Those involved with SAC-recognized groups and those who aren’t. Penn’s lifeblood is in its student organizations.
