Seann William Scott teams up with The Rock in The Rundown, an action comedy light on plot and heavy on silly antics.

An underworld kingpin hires a retrieval expert, Beck (The Rock), to bring his son, Travis (Seann William Scott), back from an archaeological quest in the Brazilian jungle. Despite being enemies, Travis and Beck must work together to survive the threat of the guerrilla freedom fighters as well as the forces of Mr. Hatcher (Christopher Walken), a rich, greedy miner who wants Travis to lead him to a valuable artifact.

Not surprisingly, the plot is unrealistic and predictable. The Rock seems to get in a fight wherever he goes. This movie, however, isn't designed to win an Oscar. It's all about entertainment value, and it definitely provides that.

The acting is the highlight of the film with Scott and The Rock possessing remarkably good on-screen chemistry. Scott plays his usual character -- the cocky, immature wannabe playboy. The Rock brings his wrestling act to the big screen with his "know your role" attitude. Walken, as always, plays the evil villain perfectly. He mixes just the right bit of insanity with seriousness to make his character believable. Rosario Dawson even pulls off her role as the Brazilian love interest of Beck and Travis with a new charisma not seen before.

Fans of The Rock and Scott will not be disappointed by this film. You get exactly what you expect. The movie is dumb and it doesn't make much sense, but it's comical and enjoyable. From Scott trying to beat up The Rock to Christopher Walken's maniacal laugh, The Rundown provides some priceless moments and, for the right crowd, a funny and entertaining movie.
