Joke Issue:

In these times, it takes a little creativity to spice up your wardrobe — food stamps don’t apply to boutique shopping. Luckily, Ego is here to help you refurbish old clothes so that you can be the sharpest one in the unemployment line.

1) Find an old shirt or other article of clothing, twine, scissors and something colorful (try a frayed ribbon, ripped pant leg or decoratively–stained dishrag).

2) Use scissors to cut around all stains and holes in your chosen piece of clothing.

3) Cut slits in fabric around each gap and in edges of chosen swatch.

4) Use twine as thread to piece together shirt with patches.

5) Debut your snappy look to all those around the radio at the next fireside chat! — Ruthie Tatter
