Tonight: I'm From Barcelona

The First Unitarian Church, All Ages

If it's true that there is power in numbers, then this Swedish pop ensemble could move mountains. Emmanuel Lundgren and 20 (20!) of his musician friends will cross the Atlantic for two East Coast shows, showcasing their dynamic talents on guitars, drums, keyboards, xylophones, trumpets and everything in between. It's a bit difficult to pin their feel-good sound down - think The Polyphonic Spree with snazzier costumes and without the cult creepiness. $14.

4/25: The B-52's

The Electric Factory, All Ages

Forever burned into the memory of '90s youth with their rendition of the Flintstones theme song in the eponymous motion picture, the B-52's land Friday night to perform new tracks from their much-anticipated release Funplex. Don't let the aging, mid-life crisis thing fool you; timeless anthems like "Love Shack," "Roam" and "Channel Z" are worth the admission alone. Lead singer Kate Pierson might be missing her iconic beehive hairdo, but that shouldn't deter you from checking out this New Wave classic. $40.

4/27: International Noise Conference

The Philadelphia Institute for Advanced Study, All Ages

Stock up on ear plugs and leave your normal conceptions of music behind. From 8 p.m. into the early morning, join over 20 artists and performers for the International Noise Conference, hosted at the Philadelphia Institute for Advanced Study. A handful of local acts will muddle your brain with cacophonous vibrations, including recent Dan Deacon opener Mincemeat or Tenspeed and other favorites Drums Like Machine Guns and Satanized. Perfect for those suffering from attention deficit disorder (and well on the way to developing serious tinnitus), each performance will top out at 15 minutes, leaving you with tasty (if hard to digest) flavors in your ear. Free (donations welcome).

4/28: Tokyo Police Club

The First Unitarian Club, All Ages

Canadian rockers Tokyo Police Club bring their party anthems just in time for the spring weather. Touring on their latest CD Elephant Shell, make the effort to see this nascent superpower before you end up "shelling" out major bucks to see them in the future. $12.
